TDF: One more thing

Tour doctors have reported that Josebi Beloki suffered a broken right leg, wrist and elbow in the terrible Stage 9 crash earlier today.

Also, as Lance Armstrong got back on the pavement after taking an unplanned detour across the field (see previous post), I noticed that one rider gave him a pat on the shoulder as he went by, encouraging Lance as a true brother-in-arms, so to speak. I couldn't tell the identity of that rider, but OLN reports that it was none other than Armstrong's former teammate, Tyler Hamilton. As we all know by now, Tyler continues to have a great Tour... even with a broken collarbone. In fact, he now stands in fifth overall, less than 2 minutes behind the yellow jersey.

I know I'm sounding like a broken record (you do remember "records," don't you?), but that Tyler dude is an amazing guy.

I remember records, but now I wonder how long that saying will have any meaning. Excellent update, too.

Remember the commercial from a few years ago with Lance riding across log bridges and down muddy hills? Can't remember the product (Nike, maybe?) but I sure remember the commercial. Today's action made me think of that.

Hmm...I can't recall that commercial right offhand, but I've slept a bit since then.

Today's escapade brings to mind the fact that some great pro roadies have become great pro mountain-bikers after they ended their road careers. Wonder if Lance might be up for something like that? I think he demonstrated that he has the skills, if there was ever any question.

Eric, don't forget some mt. bikers have also succesfully made the transition to the road. Of course, I can't remember their names right now.

I like what Merde in Frane said about Hamilton: He has a second bicycle just to carry his balls.

Alexi Grewal crossed-over, but I can't remember which way.

Great quote about Tyler. All those guys are amazing, to some degree, but a few stand head & shoulders above the rest. He's one of them.
