Blog Spam?!?

This is a new one on me. Take a look at the comment for this recent post on the Gazette. A spammer has somehow put the same message I received about 10 minutes earlier via email into my blog comments section!

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea as to how this is accomplished? Or, more important, how to prevent it?

This is a revolting thing to contemplate as a trend...

I had this once - although it didn't specifically match with an email I had just received. I can't think how they would do it automatically though, unless they created a bot which interacted with the standard MT configurations.

Care to share the IP address? That's one I'd like to ban fairly quickly.

Kevin, I'm no expert in interpreting email headers, but here's what I think is the relevant info:

Received: from [67.119.193.43] (helo=192.168.1.5)

I'm guessing that the first IP address is the offender.

If that doesn't look right, tell me what to look for and I'll try to find it.
