Matrix Timeline: File this under "Who Cares?"

The only thing more ridiculous than the fact that someone obviously spent a lot of time constructing the "historical" timeline of events depicted in the series of Matrix movies is the fact that our local newspaper devoted almost half a page, including a photo, in section one of today's edition.

At least the story didn't make to the MRT's website, although that probably would have been a better use of media than committing it to newsprint.

Eric, re: "At least the story didn't make to the MRT's website, although that probably would have been a better use of media than committing it to newsprint" .... just what the heck does that mean, anyway? :-)

"AP Content" (with Associated Press bylines/credits) usually appears in one of the AP sub-categories of the web site. From time to time, an AP story will be moved to one of our main categories if the content has some local interest.

So, while today's "Matrix" story didn't make it onto the site, something written by Georgia Temple or Tom Laney may be showing up in the near future.

Which is fine with me. I'd just as soon not get the machines too angry with me. I want them to see me as a friend. After all, it's only another seven years before we "create humanoid drone robots with Artificial Intelligence to fill jobs as construction laborers and servants." :-)

Jeff, what I meant was that when you have essentially unlimited space (as on a website), using some of it for something as, um, non-essential as this is harmless. In a newspaper, where space should be at a premium (especially, I would think, in Section 1), this AP story just seems like a waste.

It's such a ridiculous story anyway. I mean, really... everyone knows that the first humanoid drone robots will be filling US Senate seats!

(I'd rather read Georgia's, Tom's or Nancy's reviews anyway.)

Eric. Ohhhhhhh, okay .... now I understand. Guess I can log-off and head out of the house now. Going to get a set of sunglasses, an IFB and start calling myself "Agent Smith."

Well, hey, there have been thousands of studies and books which talk about the linguistic development or history or whatever of LOTR. So push some polemicism the way of that overblown empire!!

Dan, if I knew what "polemicism" meant, I'd probably agree with you!
