Time to Lighten Up

Gack...the previous slew of posts are just downright depressing! (Except for yours, Jasmine.) What say we move on to more enjoyable topics, like animals who talk like people, only more intelligently. (No snarky comments.)

The following strip was left on my computer desk chair this morning. It still bore traces of dog drool and the scissors-work was suspect (although still better than mine). I'm still dusting for finger paw-prints.

Why search for clues? The message they're sending is one of devotion!

Seriously, that comic strip is completely correct. A "pooch" likes to be a pet and a companion animal. A "mooch" likes to the boss. Consider "mooch" Numero Uno. He steals his owner's food, tears up the furniture and the curtains, and gets his jollies kicking another member of the household off the table.

Here's something truly unsettling for the canine world. Imagine: there you are nosing around the back yard, or chewing a Nyla-Bone, and you see him looming on the horizon!

By the way, I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but congratulations on the Gazette's make-over! Love the new color scheme! (and the updated pics of Abbye!!!!)

I don't think Abbye has quite gotten the hang of her species. She exhibits an unnerving array of feline qualities, down to the way she stretches in the morning.

[By the way, I've seen that Garfield balloon, up close & personal, at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. It's even scarier in real life.]

And thanks for the kind words on the new color scheme...I was beginning to think that I'd offended all of our visitors (I know I've offended some of them, but that had nothing to do with the colors ;-). You're the first one to even mention it.

I thought about creating a page showing the whole population of Abbye photos. But I came to my senses and realized that that was a great way to lose at least 50% of my recurring visitors!

I don't care for the golden hued coloring myself. It evokes too many memories of unpleasant sights - not to mention smells - of things that ooze and erupt from the orifices of infants and children when they're not feeling well.

Uh oh. I'm going to lose my commenting privileges.

(My mom and dad were Idaho Russets. But I'm just a common tator.)

Make that "tater."
