Alamo City Blogging

Beginning tomorrow afternoon, I'll be blogging from one of my favorite locations: the River Walk in San Antonio. MLB is attending a conference and I'm playing the dutiful trophy husband (yeah, right). While she's sweating over hot credit union internal control manuals, I'll be strolling along the river, sampling the countless wonderful restaurants and perusing the shops both quaint and upscale.

OK...I'll actually be locked away in the hotel room, paying an exorbitant daily rate for an internet connection and trying to keep up with the flood of work that inevitably occurs when clients find out I'm out of town.

But a change of scenery is still welcome and I'm looking forward to it. Of course, if I was Roscoe Ellis, I'd be blogging from the River Walk every day. But, then, I'd have to come to Midland for a change of scenery and that just doesn't seem right.

Actually, Eric, I do blog from the Riverwalk every day. :)

All I need do is walk to the end of the hall and out onto the patio from where I can gaze down to the San Antonio River and watch the tourist barges, and the world, float on by.

Such a setting does wonderful things for one's state of mind, I must admit. It's hard for me to imagine anywhere else on earth I'd rather be.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay, even if it's only for a day.

Roscoe, I'm guilty of poor wording (again) in that I meant to say that you did, indeed, blog from the Riverwalk. Your frequent mentions of your view and surroundings serve only to induce severe envy in me!

I'll be there through mid-day Saturday, so I should be able to soak in the atmosphere more than just a little (provided I can escape my hotel room).

I think you both should post pictures and let us enjoy the view, too. But, really, it's hard to imagine even Old San Antonio being as beautiful as Lubbock right now. ;-)

Rob, I'll take your word for it. I always thought Lubbock was at its best in March! ;-)

Rob, I do have a few Riverwalk photos up here, if you're interested.

Stop by Hipps Bubble Room for me and have some "Shy Poke Eggs".

Man oh man, this sounds fun. Wish I could come look you up. Houston is not quite so picturesque. :)

Kevin, don't be so hard on yourself. Why, Houston has...um...no, wait...let's see. Uh, yeah, you're right. Houston and Midland DO have something in common, after all!

Wallace, I've never heard of Hipps Bubble Room. Is it a restaurant or a massage parlor? ;-)
