Spammer unclear on marketing concept
I just received an internet pharmacy spam message with the subject line, "Bush is re-elected..pro-zac [sic] anyone?"
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm not a salesman and sometimes these advanced marketing techniques escape me, but isn't is generally considered a good idea to avoid alienating over 50% of your potential customers right off the bat? Don't these folks look at election maps?
[OK, it did occur to me that this might be a worldwide spam message, and thus the alienation factor could be less than 50%. It also occurred to me that perhaps the message could also be spun in a positive fashion for Bush supporters, as in "having trouble coming down from your delirious post-election high?" However, neither of those possibilities lends itself to a decently humorous post. Not that my original premise was much better. All right; I'm quitting now, before the hole gets much deeper...]
Thanks for clarifying the situation. As I said, I'm sometimes unclear on these sophisticated marketing concepts.

Ah, but they're not alienating 50% of their market. That implies Republican voters are just as likely to be Prozac users as Democrats. This is a case of niche marketing at its finest.
That internet pharmacy understands the Democrat voter is more likely to be on Prozac in the first place. There's a reason Kerry was making such an issue about "affordable health care".
John Kerry was making an implied promise to every unrealistic dreamer who can't get through life without a weekly visit to the psychiatrist and his prescription pad. At the end of every therapy session, Dr. Emil Reingold is going to write up a prescription for your happy pills and somebody else is going to pay for them! Man, it doesn't get any better in a Kerry Presidency. Government hand-outs! Free Drugs!
If Kerry had more nerve, he could have sold his "health care" to Prozac America the same way Mari1yn Man5on sells albums. Vote For Kerry!
