Wear Blue
The latest "affinity wristband" is a good one. The blue silicon band is stamped with the word "ProLife," and, like the amazingly successful "LiveStrong" band used as a fundraiser by the Lance Armstrong Foundation, it costs only $1.
Click the image above to learn more about the wristbands, including ordering information. There's no online ordering at this time, but it wouldn't hurt you to pick up a telephone every now and then to stay in practice. ;-)
Tip o'the Hat to the pulchritudinous Dawn Eden.
Thank you for posting this blog entry! We, unlike the abortion industry, do not have the resources to put out ads and such, so we're entirely relying upon word of mouth. Please let anyone who might be interested know about this, as we are trying to find a national online distributor. For the time being, we only have one order of 10,000 bracelets, and we're running out fast.
We are trying to get more right now, and we hope to have them in before the new year. Please pray that these wristbands may promote a culture of life in our country, and God Bless!

Posted by: Eric at December 17, 2004 11:02 PMThis is cool. It made me happy to see many St. Louis orginizations involved in this.

Stumbled on your blog researching origins of hymns. You now have a spot in my Bookmarks.
Anyway. The wristbands. Seems like the next silly step in the "We've got accessories, yes we do, we've got accessories, how 'bout YOU???" wars.
First came the Jesus fish. Then the Darwin fish. Then the Jesus fish eating a Darwin fish.

That's all I got. Thanks for your blog.
Praying that abortion becomes totally unthinkable...
Posted by: Joe at December 18, 2004 08:52 PMJoe, I always liked the signature I once saw on a message board thread: "They'll know we are Christians by the fish on our cars." ;-)
You may view the wristbands as trivial; I've got no problem with that. But they're being sold to raise funds for prolife activities, so whether you wear it or not is really beside the point. Don't want a wristband? I'm sure they'll gladly accept a cash donation.
Thanks for dropping by...come back anytime!
Posted by: Eric at December 18, 2004 09:02 PMEric, the subject of wrist bands came up during a mission trip to Juarez the last couple of days. A teen was sharing some yellow Livestrong bands with the younger kids in our group, and everyone was discussing the bands, their popularity, and their messages.
I told them about your post (with a 'tip of the hat' to Fireant Gazzette, of course), and there may be some nore blue bands popping up in the Tall City in the weeks ahead.
Posted by: Jeff at December 19, 2004 10:54 AMJeff, thanks for passing the word. I hope the blue bands become as ubiquitous as the yellow ones...and for all the right reasons!

It'll be interesting to see how popular this band gets.
I saw a lot of people adopt the "Armstrong yellow" band and I got the impression it became a fashion statement as much as anything else.
But wearing that band is truly wearing your ideology on your sleeve (or wrist).
Blue is an exceptionally clever color choice.
Even though they didn't say it, I suspect the Geerlings double-checked their color symbolism. "Red is the color of fire and blood
".
They were wise to claim blue before the pro-abortion movement did.
