Home, but not settled...

We're back in Midland following a fine holiday in Fort Stockton, and even after five hours of working at it, we're still nowhere near being organized. The easy stuff has been done, but we're now down to the nitty-gritty details: figuring out how to work the cool stuff we got for Christmas!

Much to report on, including the introduction of an octogenarian to a computer (or was it vice versa?). Stay tuned!

Several of the kids and grandkids have been helping my grandparents get used to the computer for the past decade.

Still, my grandmother only checks her e-mail when someone younger is around. (Like yesterday I got an e- from her! *grin* Via my cousin Whitney. . .)

One of the things that was surprising to me, was how learning to use the mouse is a skill that takes time for older people to learn. It's so instinctive to me (at least at this point) that it was interesting to see that it really is a skill to develop.

I wonder what it's going to be like for my kids. . . My now-4-y/o was using the dvd/tv/vcr/computer with ease at 2. And the mouse seemed to come naturally to him. . .
