2004? Good riddance.

I'm not a bit sorry to see 2004 go.

I wrote a long whiny post about all the things that went wrong this year, from both a global and personal perspective, but came to my senses and deleted it to keep from adding one more item to the list. Suffice it to say that I'm looking forward to a clean slate starting tomorrow.

Anyway, one of the best things that happened in 2004 is that I got to know many of you a little bit better, through your emails and comments and blogs. I have to remind myself that it's not wise to question exactly why such obviously intelligent and perceptive folks would keep coming back here; I just appreciate that you do, more than I can say.

So, to each of you, please accept my wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. May God grant you the desires of your heart!

Thanks! Here's a glass back at ya!

For some reason, I look forward less to odd years than even ones.... weird.

It was the best of times,
it was the worst of times.........

Married the lovely bride and became a Dad [step]....and almost snuck through 2004 w/o any major malfeasance. But almost wasn't quite good enough.

All the best for a new year, Eric!

I'm kind of surprised you're glad the year is over.

After following the Gazette for much of this year, I never got a sense of such strong unhappiness or displeasure.

It never seemed to show in your posts.

There's a lot I don't blog about. It's either private or uninteresting or both.

Anyway, there's a difference between being unhappy and being disappointed. A lot of things disappointed me in 2004, but that didn't result in any overall feeling of unhappiness. I'm still blessed beyond measure.

I agree with you. I'm glad 2004 is over too. This is the first time I've felt this way about a year.

So, here's to a new beginning!

mis_nomer, thanks for stopping by. We don't get many Singaporeans in our neck of the woods!

May 2005 bring you many blessings...
