Well, that was embarrassing!
What is it with the Aggies and teams dressed in orange?
I'm just glad I didn't waste any time watching this fiasco.
Update: Not surprisingly, there are some who are chortling about this outcome. As I've stated before, A&M Coach Franchione is not even on my radar screen as people about whom I have an opinion. Nevertheless, I view the abyssmal performance in today's Cotton Bowl as a coaching failure and he's got some 'splainin to do (especially in light of his new contract).
having observed sec football up close for four seasons now, I can testify that Tennessee fans are way more obnoxious than UT fans could ever hope to be. I mean, we're talking serious orange fixation.

Ummm...I've gonna just let that one slide on by. ;-)
Posted by: Eric at January 1, 2005 04:40 PMEric, you'll just have to trust me on this one, bro. I mean, Tenn. fans are even more obnoxious than Aggies can ever hope to be. ;-P
(In fact, I don't think Texas as a state has fans who are as insane for their teams as fans in the SEC. I could posit some reasons for this, but it would likely get me in trouble with the entire Southeast.)

Eric, my condolences, friend. Get 'em next year!
And it's not just the orange. Rita and I were driving into Knoxville one Saturday afternoon, and we felt like we were on I-35, heading into Austin. Caravans of vehicles sporting orange and white decorations, flying flags with "UT" in big block letters.
Guess they were just trying to make us feel welcome? :-)

On another, unrelated note, thought you'd be interested in the following ... "Among the 22 expressions on the 'List of Words Banished from the Queen’s English for Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness' are 'blog,' 'sale event,' “body wash' and 'zero percent APR financing.'”
Maybe those of you who are regular bloggers could tell me which is worse. The fact that the word is on the list at all, or the other words and phrases with which 'blog' has been lumped. :-)
