The Revolution: Blog it, then flog it

According to some pundit, "the Revolution won't be broadcast; it will be blogged." Whatever that means.

But, in recent weeks, we've actually experienced the blogging of a revolution, as Discoshaman, TulipGirl, Dan McMinn and several others on the ground in Ukraine gave the rest of the world blow-by-blow details about the peaceful-but-still-revolutionary changes in how that country's government answers to its citizens.

This was different from the Iraqi bloggers posting from Baghdad during the invasion; that was not a true revolution (although the end result will be revolutionary, I'm confident). The Ukrainian bloggers moved with and through both camps, posting interviews, photos and reports of events in near real-time. I'm not aware of another similar political reporting process in the history of the blogosphere.

So it's not surprising that two of the aforementioned bloggers, Disco and Dan, are going to collaborate on a book about the history of the Orange Revolution, with a working title of Tangerine Dreams: Front Seat at the Orange Revolution. They're now seeking interest from agents and publishers, and I wish them the best. It should make great reading; as Disco points out, the reality of Ukrainian politics is stranger than most countries' fiction.

START THE REVOLUTION! NOW IS THE TIME. DON'T WAIT FOR POLITICIANS TO END THIS TYRANNY. THE PEOPLE MUST TAKE CONTROL AND THROW THE MURDERERS OUT. HOPEFULLY, WE CAN DO IT WITHOUT FIRING A SHOT!
