Lance and Oprah
Lance Armstrong will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show tomorrow, February 11. He'll be talking about his bout with cancer as well as the fabulously successful LiveStrong yellow armband fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
By the way, according to the armband order page at the LAF Store, they've upgraded and restocked and the big shipping delays are apparently a thing of the past. I hope that's because of increased supply and not due to a jumping of the shark regarding rubber wrist bands in general.
I think, generally, that the wearing of the wrist band is less important than the buying of it, since the idea is to raise money. But it is sort of funny to see how many people are wearing them as fashion statements. Of course, that's always been the case. One person's icon is another's bauble, as shown by the crucifix-wearing gangsta rappers.

I have mixed feelings about those wristbands. On one hand, it's a good cause and a good sentiment. On the other hand, everyone I know that's wearing them back in Idaho are people that will just jump right to the next thing just as soon as it's determined.
