Another new Midland blog
I just discovered another new local blog, the second this week. It's called "Stark Trek" and it's written by one of MLB's co-workers. He's a Christian, a sci-fi fan and has a dog; what more could you ask?
The neighborhood is getting a tad crowded so I've created a new blogroll to house the Midlanders. I'm still waiting for the first Odessa blogger to hit the scene (and Ukrainians don't count...at least not for this).
MLB = My Lovely Bride
Does your browser not display a "tool tip" popup when your cursor comes to rest on top of the acronym?
Posted by: Eric at February 12, 2005 01:53 PMEric, the neighborhood is filling up a little ... but I wonder if it is possible to get too much of this particular good thing ... I don't think so.
Been waiting to get my television station's website up and running, then trying to identify and squash the bugs that invariably pop-up with a start-up.
With much of that behind me, I'd like to turn to a project I've been keeping in the back of my mind for the last few months ... an article on West Texas' share of the blogosphere.
I think we have enough local weblogs out there, to make for a good pool from which to draw my sample.
And the variety, too, that can be found in the backgrounds/perspectives of the bloggers, and the more frequent topics of their posts.
I had originally thought of contacting you at "Fireant Gazette," Mr. Patterson at "Sticky Doorknobs" and the dynamic duo at "Streams/Yellow Bug News." But now, maybe I should open that up a little more.
"It's a beautifdul day in the neighborhood" :-)
Posted by: Jeff at February 12, 2005 03:10 PMJeff, you do realize that Justin Tate sent an email to many of the bloggers you mention asking for their cooperation in a newstory about local bloggers. I don't know how the others responded; I declined to participate.
You might also want to check out Jimmy's regular column in the MRT on Monday morning to see if a blogger's story really makes for interesting reading. I have my doubts. ;-)

Thank you for the notice! I've been enjoying the Gazette sporadically for awhile now. Just one question..... MLB?
