Local Episcopal Congregation Receiving Interdenominational Support

The local Episcopal congregation I wrote about a few days ago is receiving broad support from other Midland churches, across denominational lines.

Here's what Dr. Gary Dyer, pastor of Midland's First Baptist Church, has to say in his column in that church's weekly newsletter:

I want to express my wholehearted support and appreciation for the bold stand taken by the leadership—and the vast majority of the congregation—of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church (that will now constitute under the name “Christ Church”). Father Jon Stasney has led that congregation to stand on the Word of God and the gospel of Christ, and to refuse to buckle under the pressure of the Episcopal hierarchy in America to espouse heresy and immorality. Here is a church willing to pay a high price for their convictions. I have every confidence that God will honor their sacrifice. We, as a church, need to hold them up in prayer, rejoice in their boldness for the gospel, and resolve to likewise stand for the truth regardless the cost.

Amen.
