Pardon me while I melt
104° yesterday (110° in Fort Stockton)...same forecast for today (depending on who you believe; one station says 107). That's just not right.
Our temperature range yesterday was 40 degrees. The mornings do make things tolerable, along with the low humidity. But when it hits 104 or higher, well, it's just hot, and there's no getting around it.
The forecast for Thursday, however, is for a high in the lower 80s and a good chance of rain. I'll believe it when I see it.
Well, yes ... but it's a DRY heat ... :-)
Posted by: Jeff at May 24, 2005 01:13 PMI dunno, Jim...it's really hard to drink Starbucks coffee when it's over a hundred degrees. (Although I have to admit that they do their best to maintain the illusion...the a/c is cranked up so high that you have to wear a sweater even in heat like this!)
Jeff has obviously been assimilated by the Chamber of Commerce Borg.
Posted by: Eric at May 24, 2005 03:12 PMI'll be sitting out in the heat at little Jack's last [whew!] Little League game of the year. While there I usually go walk a few miles at Windlands park. But hey, it is dry heat and there is a tree at windlands that provides shade for 40 feet of the walk.
Posted by: Wallace-Midland Texas at May 24, 2005 03:27 PMWallace, your devotion is commendable. Maybe you'll get lucky and we'll get a thunderstorm about that time of day.
Have you ever considered walking a 40 foot out-and-back course? ;-)
Posted by: Eric at May 24, 2005 03:36 PMIn hot weather I switch to frappuccinos. Hot weather being anything over 74.9 degrees.
Posted by: Jim at May 24, 2005 08:12 PMI made the mistake of reading the nutrition information for fraps. Ack. I have to save 'em for special treats.

Borg? Maybe
Sounds like somebody's quoting Private Hudson out of "Aliens".
Jim sounds like he's in my neck of the woods. It's been raining days now, the furnace is going strong, and it's still long sleeved shirt weather. Flannel long sleeved shirts, no less. I heard a rumor that it's going to be June in a week or so, but that's just a rumor.
Posted by: Mr. Freen at May 25, 2005 02:28 AMReading the nutrition information on Frapps? Never thought of doing that.
Posted by: Jim at May 25, 2005 04:06 PMDon't. You'll be happier. Possibly bulkier, but definitely happier. ;-)

57 here right now. Rain starting. Wind makes it feel like 49. The grass looks greener over there.
