We'll have to wait and see how the Blogathon board sets up this year's event. My recollection is that in 2003 there was a list of "approved charities" from which you could choose. Julie, for example, chose "Doctors Without Borders," which I thought was an excellent selection. If the rules allow for more discretion, I'll still probably go with an international relief organization like DWB or the Red Cross...or, perhaps, World Vision.

This is a great idea. I tried this in 2002, but it was a last minute decision and I ran out of steam. I also had to work in the nursery the next Sunday morning, so it was sort of a bad idea anyway. I'd thought about doing the Blogathon this year, but just can't see sitting at my computer 24 hours straight. :) I'd certainly be open to sponsoring somebody though. I say go for it!

Will, that's very generous of you (why am I not surprised? ;-), but I'm sure the Fund donors are hoping you and your wife will use those donations for something of more direct benefit to you. Of course, there are no restrictions placed on how you guys use the funds. Well, let's see what occurs between now and August. I may still wimp out.

The blogathon site has no info. How did you find out about the Aug. 6 date? Is this year being arranged through the blogathon.org site, or are bloggers just going ahead and doing it themselves?

Julie, there's a Blogathon Yahoo Group mailing list, and I received a notice of the August 6 date via that list. That notice said that more information would be available via the Blogathon website "soon" (whatever that means). They need to get with it, as time is rapidly passing.

I'm sure that the Blogathon was hard work for you. After all, I doubt that anyone else was creating a new piece of artwork and posting it every hour!

The site is live now, though the back-end isn't quite ready, apparently.
