Bookmark Meme - Round 2

I originated this about six months ago and received a fair amount of positive feedback about it, so I thought I'd run it back up the flagpole and see who salutes. It's simply a list of sites you've got bookmarked (or included in your del.icio.us posts, if that's how you keep track of other sites). The rules (guidelines, really) are simple: list the last bookmark in your collection, move up the list ten places and list the next one, move up another ten, and so on. If you keep all of your bookmarks in folders, (1) just go to the next folder, if you need to, as you move up the list, and (2) get a life. Do you really need to be that organized?

Here's what I've got nowadays:

  1. Cheat Sheets from ILoveJackDaniels.com (courtesy of the scintillating Patti at White Pebble)

  2. Restoration Village - A Christian ministry in Sri Lanka working to build new homes for the victims of the tsunami

  3. Milonic - provider of canned DHTML menus and related goodies

  4. Findory - a meta-news site, or something (frankly, I'm not sure how to describe it)

  5. WebCalendar from K5N - a PHP-based turnkey online calendar (which I've never used)

I've just listed five sites due to time constraints, but ten is really a more helpful number. You might be surprised to learn what other folks considered important enough to bookmark.

Howzabout this, Eric? I found the link via Jim's site. I just grabbed ten bookmarks because I have tons of them. My philosophy: When in doubt, bookmark. :)

10: JMWC: Online Music/ Midi Libraries. A list of sites offering free MIDI files of traditional Jewish music.

9: WordWeb: Free thesaurus dictionary download. Just like it sounds--free dictionary/thesaurus program.

8: Ikonboard - The True Community Builder. Whatever. :) Bulletin board software that I didn't use. I used phpBB2 for the site I used to maintain.

7: 25+ ASP Tips to Improve Performance and Style, out of the MSDN library. I think I used this when I was researching how to do clever things with my old web site, now defunct.

6: Welcome to the Tennessee Aquarium. Took my wife and daughter there earlier this year.

5: AnnualCreditReport. Free annual credit report!

4: Centennial Foods makes a particular type of hot sauce that one of those 'where to find it' articles in the paper listed as being particularly good. I haven't ordered any, so I can't testify. Good recipes on that site, though.

3: Tor Lillqvist--GTK (not GIMP) for Windows--Downloads. The libraries needed to install The Gimp on Windows boxes.

2: Convenient link to download RealPlayer 10 without having to wade through real.com.

and finally (drumroll please):

1: Windows XP PowerToys and Add-ins. Some neat little programs.

What do you think, sirs?

See, that's why I think this is such a neat idea...the diversity of one's bookmarks is usually quite fascinating. Now, granted, yours tend to lean to the geeky side, but the presence of a hot sauce link evens it out pretty well, I'd say!

I'm with you on phpBB; I really like it.

Thanks for sharing your list!
