If I'd written this, I'd be accused of being a prideful chauvinist. But coming from a guy from Illinois, it has a certain objectivity that's hard to dispute.

Especially with respect to Molly Ivins. ;-)

My byline once appeared in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on the same day as Molly Ivins' ... and, yes, I was proud of that fact.

It's good to see that comments by dang Yankees from back east are welcomed here, in West Texas ... sure beats the heck out of the "Keep Texas Beautiful ... Put a Yankee on the Bus" sentiments ...

Come to think of it, though, 'uber-Texan' George Bush is a DYFBE, himself ... so, maybe I'm in good company, after all ...
