The Real "The Office"
We receive at least 200 pounds of "holiday shopping catalogs" each year, from every conceivable type of retailer, and most of them don't get a second glance. There is one, however, that I look forward to receiving and the latest edition just arrived in today's mail. It's from those fine folks at Despair, Inc., purveyors of the finest in demotivational material.
Despair has a couple of exciting new products which I'm sure you'll want to investigate and perhaps even buy with that stolen credit card you've been saving for a rainy day. The first is a poster with the heading of "Effort" and a tagline of "Hard Work Never Killed Anybody - But It Is Illegal in Some Places." The text is centered under a lovely glowing photo of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower in the hazy background. A link would be nice, you say? Well, here's one...and it contains other links to explain the factual basis for the poster.
But the new offering with the most promise is here: audio and video podcasts recorded by Despair, Inc.'s founder, E. L. Kersten, PhD. Well, as soon as they figure out how to do them, or at least whom to blame for it not getting done. For now, you'll have to be content with a couple of QuickTime movies to whet your appetite for disillusionment.
Anyway, if you can't find everything you need at despair.com to fill your holiday shopping needs, you're just not applying yourself. Which may be OK, come to think of it; as they are quick to remind us, not everyone gets to be an astronaut when they grow up.
Technorati tag: Despair, Inc.
For you, anything. ;-)
I'll work on it...
