I picked a bad week to not quit blogging...

Four new clients in the past 10 days, including two today, including one who wants a whole site redesign by, say, tomorrow. Eight consecutive nights of social events or other external commitments, should we choose to participate (we'll probably bow out of two of them)...including one tonight which involved large groups of accountants preoccupied with swapping layoff tales. Layoffs past, present and future. I don't drink but I have to admit that the bar was starting to look mighty inviting. But such is the life of a trophy husband.

But things aren't all bad. We got home in record time, having elected the LIFO party attendee inventory method, and managed to catch the last ten minutes of My Name is Earl. As long as we have Earl around to do the Robot Dance, life remains worthwhile.

Just thought you ought to know.

For someone who says he's never actually worked as an accountant, you are certainly up on all the lingo. The LIFO method works very well for parties, I agree. And nothing says "party" like a bunch of accountants talkin trash about layoffs. ;-)

Eric, I LOVE "My Name is Earl" !!! It's one of the few programs out there that has me adjusting my schedule a little ... so I can be in front of the tube, Tuesday nights at eight-thirty.

Gwynne, you must know that I included that reference specifically with you in mind. Plus, I feel that it's important to demonstrate to the world that there are practical applications for accounting terminology. "Improving the world through accounting jargon"...that's my new motto.

Along with "More pie."

Jeff, there's something about that show that rings true...the details are spot on. Like the tiered wedding "cake" last night: a tower of alternating rows of Twinkies, Ding-Dongs and powered sugar doughnuts. Or Earl's breakdancing on a flattened cardboard box laid out on the grass. It takes a truly creatively twisted mind to come up with stuff like that...and to give it appropriate appreciation. I have renewed respect for you, my friend!

But, I'm not at all happy with the move to Thursday. See what you can do about that, will you?

What...they don't let you watch "My Name is Earl" in college? ;-)

Enjoy your time in .edu land while you can, amigo!
