A Choke of Epic Proportions

Two observations just before halftime at the Rose Bowl:

  • It appears they gave the Heisman Trophy to the wrong guy

  • The right guy is making that point much better than I ever could.

Two boneheaded plays by The Greatest Team in the History of College Football™:

  • The actual Heisman Trophy winner attempting a lateral after a long run which put SC well in scoring position resulted instead in a turnover.

  • The SC sideline's failure to call for a replay on the correct Heisman Trophy winner's lateral attempt allowed UT to put six points on the scoreboard. More importantly, it gave Texas the momentum and I frankly don't think they'll give it up.

I've made no secret that I'm not a UT fan (it's genetic), but the dismantling of USC's "dynasty" is, frankly, an awesome thing to behold.

USC may still come back, and if they do, I may actually be willing to label them as TGTITHOCF.

Two great teams. I had the impression though that the Longhorns had the "most" overall talent in positions that win games....the lines. Also that probably they are the more physical, something USC hasn't had to face all that much.

I don't know about linemen, but Vince Young is making the Trojans look like a Pop Warner team...
