Newsflash: NBC Still Clueless

NBC apparently decided that the recently canceled "The Book of Daniel" wasn't "edgy" enough for its Christian viewership, so they're going to try this approach.

Obviously I've not seen this episode of "Will and Grace" (a show that's not on my watch list anyway), but from reading the description I'm at a loss to adequately quantify the number of ways this could turn out badly for the network.

I'm also at a loss as to how to tag this post. There actually are some visits I'd just soon not get.

Oh my goodness.

Well, it's all for the best anyhoo. When TV gets completely unwatchable, maybe I'll convince the other members of my household to get rid of ours.

Woah. Guess I messed up that HTML tag.

I hope that's the biggest problem you encounter today, amigo! ;-)

Christianity is the only religion where it remains entirely acceptable to lampoon and caricature its believers.

That "it's all in good fun" leer simply isn't turned against the Jews, or the Buddhists, or the Native Americans, or the Muslims.

"When TV gets completely unwatchable..."

You mean it hasn't yet?

My compliments, Jim. You definitely have a stronger stomach than I do.

Jim talked about, "...when TV gets completely unwatchable..."

Last weekend, my (6-year-old) son told me that, before anyone else had gotten out of bed, he'd been watching TV by himself, but he turned it off because he was annoyed by "all the dumb commercials." The show he was watching wasn't worth the annoyance of the frequent and long interruptions. AND - this was during his all-time favorite show!

When it's not insulting or annoying to adults, it's insulting or annoying to kids! (This makes me worry that when he's 15, it'll be perfect for him and he'll never want to turn it off...)

Thanks for the compliment about my strong constitution, Mr. Freen. :-)

However, let me clarify: I do think that TV has already gone well past unwatchable. I am, unfortunately, alone in that opinion... in my household anyways. I should have said, "unwatchable for them."
