Got Gwynne?
On your blogroll or bookmarks list, that is? If not, you should, because she's taken the blogging plunge at her new joint called The Shallow End.
Don't let the name fool you. And do visit her regularly. I plan to.
Well, mentor, you done did good!!!!
Posted by: Janie at March 25, 2006 08:20 PMHey, I know talent when I see it!
So, Janie...when are YOU going to start blogging? ;-)
Posted by: Eric at March 25, 2006 08:26 PMMaybe after shooting season ends????(which, in the western part of Texas, is... ???????) I'm in the pre-pre-pre-consideration phase, which is the phase prior to the phase where I e-mail you and ask you pointedly somewhat reserved questions about a certain friend of mine needing some advice on how one would possibly approach a somewhat buried desire to begin to perhaps consider a timid plunge into the wonderful world of blogging....
Besides, it's a lot of fun to jump on the web a couple of days a week and see what and where all you, Jimmy, Scott , Wallace, Julie, and Pattie (and now, Gwynne!!_ have written and experienced!! And I get to comment and y'all withstand it with such good will and humor.
Kind of a vicarious blogging, commenting is!
Posted by: Janie at March 25, 2006 09:30 PMHa! You're toast, amiga...I can see "blogger" written all over you... ;-)
Posted by: Eric at March 25, 2006 09:32 PMNo, amigo, you may have a sight problema...all you see today is the 2nd High Overall Lady shooter with a rousing 74 (out of 75!) (ahem) (well, I did ace 10 mulligans ;)) at the 600 shooter Houston ConocoPhillips shoot! YEAAAAAAAAH! The lady that bested me shot a 77 out of 75 (now you see how the mullies work.) And...I won....a Thermos Coffee Jug that was made to look like a shotgun shell. Sweet.
Better than the beautiful AADE acrylic trophy I've won two years running at the Dallas AADE shoot. Well, sort of beautiful. Neither of those trophies are on a shelf anywhere...mostly because they are beautifully inscribed with the words "HOA Ladies"
on them...and I just cannot bear to exhibit the trophies, as beautiful as they are. I've got to remember to get them to change the wording on those trophies!
Blogging...hmmmmm...I'll have to talk to my friend and see if the timing is write. I mean rite. No, right. Or mebbe not.
Posted by: Janie at March 25, 2006 10:34 PMYou just wrote a perfect post.
Well, you and your imaginary friend. I rest my case.
Oh, and congrats on your eagle-eye shooting. I can already see the name of your blog: "Annie Oakley Ain't Got Nothin' on Me!" ;-)
Posted by: Eric at March 25, 2006 10:37 PMSteve always says "Don't mess with my woman, she can shoot!" But he did really well today too, as did the rest of our Midland-ites. One of our guys shot an 80! (Which means he only dropped five targets and aced 10 mullies.)
The real winners - two gentlemen who shot a perfect 75, then aced the mullies. One of them drove home in a new Toyota SUV tonight (I would tell you the name of it, but it failed due to questionable content???)...and it was really sweet!
But the ultimate prize was that the shoot raised over $115K for Special Olympics! And that is AWESOME!
Posted by: Janie at March 25, 2006 10:43 PMJanie, you definitely need a blog! Nothing like a new convert to help close the sale. ;-)
Posted by: Gwynne at March 26, 2006 02:30 PMI would tell you the name of it, but it failed due to questionable content???
My spam filter gets a little carried away sometimes, seeing things that aren't really there. I've been trying to set it up witha therapist, but it keeps insisting that there's nothing wrong...

Thanks, Eric! I consider you my mentor. Be afraid, be very afraid. ;-)
