Fire Ant Theatre: Classical Readings, Vol. II

Our second installment of FATCRs takes us places where, really, no one should ever go. Oh, it begins innocently enough, with a reading of a short original essay, but then something goes dreadfully wrong. I'm at a complete loss to explain why I ever thought this was a good idea.

Fire Ant Theatre Reading The Second

For what it's worth, I don't own any woven hemp sandals, and despite how it may sound, no living creatures were harmed in the making of this recording. As far as the effect of listening to it...well, you're own your on.

Go ahead, fellow bloggers; laugh it up...but consider the gauntlet tossed.

...and that folks is why the man was an accountant and now a blogger!!!

Hey, Lyle, congratulations on being the first person with enough guts to leave a comment on this...this...well, whatever it is.

As an accountant, I haven't even had the guts to listen to it yet. ;-)

Darn! I was hopin' to hear a little gittar pickin' with that rendition!! (I know you've got it in ya...)

He SINGS!

Not bad, pard. Not bad.

Umm.... encore?

I was hopin' to hear a little gittar pickin' with that rendition!!

That would be adding insult to injury.

I haven't even picked up the guitar in more than six months.

Jim, you are a glutton for punishment, amigo.

I really never expected to get anything as glowing as a "not bad," either. My singing occasionally rises to the level of mediocre, but generally falls well short of even that. But I had an ulterior motive in doing this, which shall be revealed... eventually.

He sings (a capella even)! He dances (not sure how well the tango goes with country and western, but if anyone can pull that one off, he can)! He plays guitar (left-handed)! But can he do all of these at the same time? When is the video coming out hombre?

I'll second Jim's "not bad" and kick it up a notch...good job!

Eventually,

you're killin' me here with this suspense. You sure know how to keep us coming back.

Posted by: Jim at April 28, 2006 07:22 PM

Too much fun! :)

Posted by: beth at April 28, 2006 08:20 PM

Gwynne, any other time I'd accuse you of sucking up, but there's no possible motivation for you to do that, so you're either extraordinarily charitable or completely tone-deaf. ;-)

I'll go with the former.

Jim, it's not anything either (1) sinister or (b) related to American Idol. If that helps.

Beth, you need to get out more. ;-) But, thanks anyway. We'll return to Real Classics next week.

No motivation? Are you sure? You have something I want. They're called Fire Ant Eggs (and I'm hoping these taste more like M&M's than trail mix). ;-)

It occurs to me that someone visiting this site for the first time might read your comment and wonder just what he or she has wandered into. ;-)

I listened yesterday and my friend mike enjoyed it too! You can get hemp woven clogs? How bout some shakespeare next? hehe.

Posted by: Rachel at April 29, 2006 04:51 PM

Shakespeare, huh? Hmmm... might be a possibility...

As far as the woven hemp clogs go, while that just popped into my mind without any research, I'm sure if you google that phrase you'll get plenty of possibilities. ;-)

Like the picture of 62 dead rattlers didn't do it? ;-)

Heh. Good point!

I can't believe it, my co-worker just bought a car for $30878. Isn't that crazy!
