Blogathon Update: Excuse our dust

At the end of the previous post I moaned about the lack of pledges for the Gazette's Blogathon project. What I didn't realize is that pledges have indeed been made, but the Blogathon's notification process is apparently not working as intended.

In fact, there appear to be numerous bugs in the pledge process, and if you've tried to make a pledge without apparent success, please let me know and I'll report it to the organizers. It took me two tries to make a pledge to a friend's campaign, and I never did receive the promised confirmation email, although my pledge was eventually verified where it was supposed to show up.

This turn of events is quite disheartening, and I apologize for any problems you might have experienced, even though I have no control over the process. I can assure you that the organizers are working frantically to quash the bugs and in the meantime, I hope you'll be patient and give it another try.

For those who have succeeded in making a pledge, I thank you (THANK YOU!), as does Midland Fair Havens. I'll try to do a better job in monitoring the campaign page, now that I know that the notification process isn't working properly.

Just so you know, I am planning to donate but I want to get my car bill out of the way first...Never fear though, I'll beat the deadline :).

Rachel, I wasn't worried. ;-)

The folks at Fair Havens will be excited to get another pledge from their favorite Kiwi.

FWIW, you don't actually make a donation until after July 29.

I pledged yesterday. It's a shame I'm pregnant this year - I would have signed up to blog again, too. There's no way I'll be able to stay awake for 24 hours in my current condition, but I'll be sure to check in with you periodically on that day.

Jen, I'm sorry you won't be able to participate this year...I had a lot of fun with "not that Jen...THIS Jen"! But, you have a great excuse.

And thanks so much for the pledge. It hasn't yet shown up on the Blogathon site, leading me to believe that they still have fixed their bug(s). Very aggravating. I'll keep an eye out. Did you get an acknowledgement email from Blogathon?

they must have some serious issues with the site. my spousal unit tried again today and hasn't rec'd a confirmation. she will probably inform you of this herself. who knows, maybe it is a trick so we keep going back and pledging again and again. you could raise big bucks this year!!! ;>)
