Rob's Re-Entry
I just learned that Rob Stewart has made his new blog -- Just a Blog -- public, and you should stop by and welcome him back. Rob, a professor at Texas Tech (in Lubbock for you non-Texans), is a fine blogger and all-around good guy, and he's been missed since Snippets went fallow earlier this year.
The only thing I find fault with on his new joint is his cool little analog clock that's captioned "Texas Time," which, of course, is going to peeve the folks in El Paso and the Guadalupe Mountains National Park. But, then, perhaps that's his intent. ;-)
My first thought on (clearly not reading carefully) reading this entry: Wow - Eric knows Rod Stewart.
Dyslexics untie! Trip up the world.
Posted by: beth at July 12, 2006 07:33 AMRob, being lumped (no pun intended) in with Malt-o-Meal is one of the highest honors a blogger can aspire to. ;-)
Beth, if you were also an agnostic insomniac, you could lay awake at night wondering if there really was a dog.

I thought the same thing!
Then I thought, "wow, Texas Tech has hired that old english rock 'n roller?" I realize it's hard to get good people to work in Lubbock (as their choice of basketball coach shows), but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what Rod Stewart could teach fine West Texas young'uns that wouldn't get them into trouble with The Law.
In the words of Gilda Radner: Nevermind.

Thanks for the kind remarks, Eric. It's fun to be back at the blog helm.
Your insight slays me--it didn't occur to me that the title of the clock was leaving out our neighbors in Far West Texas. Still, I think most of them know real Texas Time from Mountain Time. ;-)
By the way, having a blog go fallow didn't keep me from regularly reading my favorite blogs, such as the Gazette. It's a daily necessity, right up there with a bowl of Malt-o-Meal Spooners and a banana.
