20 Questions...Minus 8

Here's a Q&D (quick and dirty) shot at some of the questions/suggestions you've proposed for posts:

Know any good jokes?

Four fonts walk into a bar and the barman says "Get out! We don't want your type in here!"

Are there any stars out yet?

Hmm. This is Queen Beepy's allusion to the Great Blogathoner Fall of 2005. You can search it out on the Gazette if you must know. But I'm not even going there this year.

A Faith thing...name something that puzzles you or awes you or something like that.

I'm awed by how faith can unite people of otherwise diverse and possibly irreconcilable differences.

The how you met YLB story....

I first laid eyes on her across a high school band hall.

The how Abbye came to live with you story...

Saturday adoption clinic at PetSmart. She was so cowed she wouldn't walk to you...just crawled on her belly. Who could have made her that way? And who could resist such scared sweetness?

How did you come to be involved with Midland Fair Havens?

This is my only active involvement with MFH. It's just a small thing I can do to help in a big job. Good people, great work, Christ-centered.

What books are on your current reading list?

"The Detonators" "The Long Tail" "Freakonomics" "King Dork" "Quicksilver" (still!)

Don't have time to provide links; they're all at Amazon.

What do you plan to do all night in between blog posts?

Prepare posts.

What is the key to making a clean escape from the world of corporate dronage?

Marry well.

What is your favorite color?

The color of a newborn baby's innocence. Heck. I don't know. White. No. Black. No, gray... ;-)

How about how YLB plans to make it through Blogathon 2006?

Other than making a Starbucks run on my behalf, her routine won't be altered.

Favorite vacations?

The kind we get to take. But, specifically, bicycling through Summit County, CO; scuba diving off Bonaire, NA; hiking in the Guadalupe Mountains; strolling the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

That font's joke is really funny! Either that or I am tired from staying up to watch rugby! (WE won btw!).

You failed to list "skiing at Lake Tahoe" amongst your favorite vacations.....I just know it was an oversight.
I go to bed early.....I'm ready for another "name that tune"

No, it's really funny. Trust me. Would I tell an unfunny joke? ;-)

Was it the All Blacks who won? (Did I say that right?)

Lake Tahoe would have been on the list had He Who Shall Not Be Named not done That Which Shall Not Be Repeated.

Another name that tune coming right up.

I like your joke...i just got some downtime and went back and caught up on all your posts and their comments. Good to see you at HEB and meet Jimmy, his site is next on my list to visit. Your pecan must be related to mine...I found one nut on it this year. Keep up the good work and Cindy and I'll check on you a bit before we get Kevin put to bed...oooohhhh what an idea--we can drop him off at your place of bloggage and that will help you stay awake!!!

Yep totally right - We beat the Australian team :). I'll have to get you into rugby at some time. Maybe world cup time since it has a US team in it!

Ha! I liked the joke alot - but then, I really like those kinds of jokes. :) I'll be retelling it for some time to come though as it's one I've not heard before.

Lyle, thanks for dropping by HEB today...I can't believe how fast Kevin's growing up. Yeah, bring him over...I'll feed him Starbucks all night and return him bright and early en la maņana! ;-)

Rachel, you're just trying to get me interested in time to watch NZ kick our tails! World Cup anything is just not a pretty sight for us. ;-)

Darn, You're awake enough to be on to me hehe. Ultimately it depends if we are in the same group or not hehe.
