New security measures in place today at US airports in response to thwarted terror plot include:
-- No liquids or gels of any kind will be permitted in carry-on baggage.

Eric, MLB made it back alright from hearings in Santa Fe (flying through Albuquerque, Thursday) ... but I had called her in advance, telling her of all the latest silliness, and advising her of what to carry in check-in, rather than carry-on ...

I know I've herd and read some media reports about iPods, cell phones, and laptops...according to TSA those are still ok to take on board.

The person I talked to today about it said, "We are dealing with a live situation so things will change but if they are being told to check their laptop...well they must be in England...if they are here they need to ask to speak to the TSA supervisor on duty."

Rachel, I thought about you as soon as I heard about the new restrictions. Maybe they'll have eased up a bit by then. At the very least, perhaps the TSA screeners will be better at their jobs by then!

I think I'll drive to Dallas this week for the AADE Dallas shoot instead of taking shotguns with me on the flight.

It'll probably take less time, given the current situation.
