My busy life...

I don't know why I feel the need to share this, but here's what filled our Saturday, and why, at 10:00 p.m., I can barely keep my eyes open:

  • Breakfast with friends
  • Walk Abbye
  • Tandem ride (22 miles)
  • Wife's company picnic
  • Shooter's Association range rules and safety orientation
  • Dance class
  • Dinner followed by dessert and coffee while stealing looks at magazines at B&N
  • Walk Abbye
  • Update websites for three clients who couldn't care less that it's Saturday
  • Post this update so I can check "make lame post" off my list
  • Issue a disclaimer: I don't really have a list
  • Issue a clarification: OK, I have lots of lists, but they're all mental and pretty much non-functioning
  • Bid you adieu and good night while pondering the implications of blogging in hyper-realtime

Total discretionary time spent at home today: 12 minutes.

Nighty-night.

Eric, maybe Elder Son and I will see you out at the range some time ... we go out there at least once a month ... MLB prefers the Association's shotgun range, out near the airport ...

It's the wife's company picnic. Personally I find making small talk and being polite, all while I try to remember to use proper manners to be extremely tiring.

Jeff, we may well run into one another, although I'll likely be out there while everyone else is working at their Real Jobs. I do want to check out the shotgun range, since my nephew likes to shoot at clay targets.

John, I admit that there are certain stresses that come with one's status as a Trophy Husband at these events. But you have to keep in mind that Midland is still a relatively small city, we've lived here for almost 25 years, and thus it's not too surprising that I've either previously worked with, gone to church with, or gotten to know many of my wife's co-workers. In other words, it's much too late for me to make a good first impression.
