Gazette Tagline Voting Update
With just a few days left for voting, the top two taglines are separated by only four votes, which is a bit surprising to me. "Fiery little bytes..." sprang into an early and apparently insurmountable lead, but "Leg crawling content..." has gotten some unexpected momentum over the past couple of days.
I'm pretty sure someone's stuffing the ballot box, having taken a cue from Jeff's exhortation to vote early and often, as the total number of votes far exceeds the Gazette's readership. But surely that's a mark of success for a blog, when people care enough to cheat.
If you haven't yet cast your vote, click here to do so.
Ok - yes. Sorry, it was just denying my oh-so-witty comments, so I thought I'd check first. :)
What I was trying to say is that you could always call it a tie and combine them...you know:
West Texas wisdom that crawls up your leg and stings your heart.
Or you could go with:
Firey little bites of West Texas that crawl up your leg and sting your wisdom.
:)
Posted by: beth at September 27, 2006 01:08 PMBeth, were you using dirty words in your comment, again? I thought we'd come to an understanding about that. ;-)
I like your thinking, although there's probably something in the Official Book Of Fire Ant Rules that prohibits the combining of disparate taglines as an abomination against nature. Stupid old rule book.
Posted by: Eric at September 27, 2006 01:17 PMRules. Heh.
So who's figured out how to vote more than once? You'd almost have to travel around the country and vote from every city you stopped in to do that.
Posted by: Jim at September 27, 2006 01:21 PMJim, Jim, Jim...poor, naive, rule-abiding Jim: what a refreshing perspective! ;-)
Posted by: Eric at September 27, 2006 01:38 PMHey...wait a minute...
Posted by: Eric at September 27, 2006 01:39 PMWho said anything about a stupid rule book? I vote for the crawling wisdom. ;-)
Posted by: gwynne at September 27, 2006 02:02 PMWhat can I say, my wisdom was stinging. :) Rules? You have rules? Man...tough crowd.
While I didn't travel around the country, I did visit the local cemetery and hold a voter registration drive.
Anything that attributes wisdom to this here thing just creeps me out, frankly.
But I like the notion that dead people may be responsible for it.
Posted by: Eric at September 27, 2006 03:27 PMHey, don't knock deceased voters. They've helped elect some of our better presidents.
Posted by: John Peter Smith at September 27, 2006 07:59 PMI like number one! Gonna vote twice. ppppth.
Posted by: mis_nomer at September 27, 2006 10:16 PMWell, I do get some edgamucation when I pop over to the Gazatte...
