What would Annie Oakley shoot?

Would she go for a 40 cal. S&W with slide, trigger and accents in a nice anodized lavender, equipped with a teal-colored tac-light and fitted with a tiger-skin grip inlay?

Photoshopped Pistol

OK, the real reason for this post is to introduce a Photoshop plug-in filter called AKVIS Decorator. I'll be posting a full review of this software within the next few days, assuming the Firearm Fashion Police don't haul me off.

Nice job on the gun, really nice. In fact, I suggest you get a bunch of tatoos, a few piercings and meet with the folks at MTV about you starring in the sequel to "Pimp My Ride". Your show could be called, "Pimp My Handgun".

Eric, my grandmother told me when I was a boy that Annie Oakley's family and my family were friends ... way back in the day, and that she met with Annie a number of times.

Annie's family was originally from Ohio and stretched into Indiana, while mine is originally Hoosier (Indiana) with stretches into Ohio. Grandma said that even though she became world-famous, Annie never forgot that she was just "ordinary folks," and she was always the sweetest person to be around.

I don't think she'd have wanted a fancy gun, but I'm sure she'd have loved to do some target shootin' with y'all, at family get togethers, and such. That's just how she was, according to my grandma.

Roscoe, that's a great story; thanks for sharing it.

John, let me know how your pitch to MTV works out. How does a 5% royalty sound?

It's the tigerstripe inset that really clinches the look. Without that, it would've just been gaudy, but with? Not even those folks on "What Not to Wear" could find fault.

Ever considered your own fashion line? We could call it "Texas ho!"

You guys are coming up with some excellent marketing ideas!

Beth, I'm still not quite satisfied with the look of this model, though. It needs...I don't know...perhaps, rhinestones!

I agree with Roscoe, Annie Oakley would not have been caught dead carrying that piece. Paris Hilton on the other hand? In a heartbeat! And yes, it definitely needs rhinestones! ;-)

Some of my shootin' compadres have their guns somewhat tricked out...not quite like this gun, but, ya know, in a guy kind of way....
