Santa Fe Scenes
A few random images from our recent trip:

Another ant sculpture on Canyon Road

I thought there might be a joke about flatulence here, but couldn't make it work in the end.

This was actually in Taos, at the Visitor's Center, a very nice facility complete with free WiFi and a loaner computer.

It was tempting, but we elected to forgo the mental clarity.

I didn't get to the Taos visitors' center... it would have been worth it just to see that tree.
By the way, the best breakfast of my jaunt last summer was procured in Taos. In fact, it was one of the top three meals of the entire trip: the Huevos Rancheros at The Bean on Paseo del Pueblo Sur, featuring red or green chiles, or a little of both (which is what I had). It was inspiring, and sinus-clearing as well.

Or something like that. I've never been a 12 year old boy. :)
Mental clarity is decidedly overrated.
That said, the photos make me homesick.

I wouldn't know.
We haven't spent much time in Taos, and the only place we've eaten is actually six miles outside town -- but it's also one of the best dining experiences of our times in the area, and that says a lot if you know Santa Fe's reputation for good food. If you ever get a chance to try The Stakeout, especially for dinner, and especially around sunset, you'll be amazed at not only the view but also the food. (Make sure your wallet or credit card is locked and loaded, though.)
Beth, as I recall, you once lived in Los Alamos, right? This is all right in your backyard, more or less.

Posted by: Rach at March 2, 2007 08:31 PMBack at ya, Rach! ;-)
Posted by: Eric at March 2, 2007 08:34 PMThe sign probably is a warning of a vicious dog...unlike the Zackmeister, who would probably lick any potential encroacher to death.
Great photos, Eric! Welcome back!
Posted by: Janie at March 2, 2007 10:16 PMJanie, I'm betting the dog behind that gate was something like a Yorkie or a Shih Tzu. There's probably a law of nature that holds that the badder the sign, the meeker the dog. ;-)

"The guilty dog barks first"?
