Delbert coming to Midland!

I just learned that Delbert McClinton will be playing a concert along with Jonny Lang and Leon Russell, as a part of the "Margarita and Salsa Festival" in downtown Midland on June 9th.

A show featuring any one of these guys would be worth attending, but having all three in the line-up is pretty amazing. We'll be there.

You can be there, too -- drop by this website to buy and print your tickets, which are $26.50 (plus $3.50 handling -- I guess those pixels are expensive to push around).

I would love to be there, but my plane is in the shop. Have fun! I agree...any one of those guys would be a great show, but I've become more enamored with McClinton since you introduced him to me. He gives Marcia Ball a run for her money. ;-)

For whatever reason, I thought Delbert was a West Texas boy, and played there all the time. Regardless, should be a good show.

I get to see his little buddy, Joe Ely, next week, unless the wife ditches.

Ok...so I got all excited and kinda jealous because I read this as "Dilbert is coming to Midland."

Once I hit McClinton I got confused cause I didn't know Dilbert had a last name. Then I kept reading and realized I was a moron.

Dilbert would be cooler.

Gwynne, I'd send mine to pick you up, but my pilot is, um...in prison. Or in the hospital. Yeah, that's it. He's very sick.

Scott, Ely actually seems to get to Midland-Odessa more often than any of those other guys.

Dilbert would be cooler.

I dunno. I prefer my musicians to have more than two dimensions. But that's just me.

Leon Russell is a certified legend. Who is this Dilbert guy?

See, we're not the only morons out there.

Yeah, but at least Beth isn't a Texan, and not subject to the same standards. ;-)

I gave up trying to figure out Wallace a long time ago.

My mother would be ashamed of me for accepting the "not a Texan" idea...cause I come from a long line of Texans (my granddad was a Texas Ranger and there's the whole San Antonio thing that we'll just not get into here) but...well...um...I'll stick with the "not a Texan" label if it keeps me out of trouble. :)

Holy carp, that sounds like an awesome concert! Wish I could be there with you, especially if Blues Queen Gwynne could make it too.
