I'm sure there's a proper name for it, but we just call it the Big Hibiscus. And it's got its first bloom of the season:

The plant is loaded with unopened buds. If they decide to bloom simultaneously, I don't think it can support the weight – but it should be a sight to behold.

Well, we're not far off with our naming of the plant. There's not much difference between Big Hibiscus and Giant Hibiscus. Only an ad executive would quibble.

We got our first bloom for the year today, too. We have many more coming. Ours is laden down with rain this morning. Another 3 inches. I remember we prayed for this!

There is one of those steroid ridden things on my dog walk route. Looked over this morning and saw it for the first time. Pretty spectacular!
Does it eat dog food?

I thought Gwynne's was big... until I saw yours! What are they on, steroids? Crazy! I'm going to go take a picture of my hibiscus.
