Shop 'til you drop: it's now a reality
Beth and I were joking with each other about Ikea stores being so big that you needed to plan on spending the night there.
This quote reminded me of an episode from My Name is Earl:
Anyone else remember that episode?
Metro Detroit had an Ikea open last summer, and it was the biggest of news...people camped out in front of the store for days and days leading up to the Big Day, the local news affiliates did remote broadcasts from there, and police had to direct traffic in the area. It was crazy!
I still haven't been there, though. Maybe I'm still waiting for the crowds to die down.
Posted by: Tricia at August 14, 2007 09:34 AMI really like Ikea.
But not that much.
Posted by: Jim at August 14, 2007 11:18 AMAt Ikea they open the restaurant an hour before the store opens so you can have their $1.99 breakfast, which is excellent. When the Frisco Ikea opened there was a 8 HOUR line to get in, I like Ikea and all but I think I would a day or two instead of standing in the line. I love their stuff and have spent many enjoyable hours putting their furniture together.

Posted by: Jeff at August 14, 2007 02:36 PMJeff, that's the one.

That's hillarious. Though oddly...terrifying.
Can you imagine having that many people watching you sleep?
Paranoid people need not apply.
