If I'm noisy, I must be busy
I suppose that Thriving Office might be useful in making me seem busy, but what I really need is something that will make me seem competent.
I remember seeing that a few weeks ago and thinking...
"That's the stupidest thing ever!"
But I guess people will probably buy it.
Personally the demo sounds like a call center. So if you want to sound like you work in a cubicle at a call center, than I guess it is perfect.
I would be happy with utter and complete background silence... which is what I normally enjoy. And my clients know I work out of my home anyways.
I do probably need to get a thicker door between my office and the living area of the house though.
Posted by: Justin Pease at September 7, 2007 12:54 PMJustin, a large minority of my clients have home offices and so they can readily relate to working with a consultant who does as well. I must admit, though, that my environment is completely free of noisy distractions: no kids and a dog who prefer to nap rather than bark. Plus, I don't listen to music while I work, so I don't have to scramble to shut it off when I get a phone call.

"Sir, the President is on line three, and he said it's urgent." "It's G.E., and they want to buy your patent."
Of course, the user would have to be careful that a client didn't hear the same important message each time.

So, how do you know the President isn't calling me daily on line 3?

Ack! That would be awful (the product, not your competence).
