Happy New Year!
The Gazette will be dormant for the rest of the year, giving our hard-working pixels a time of much-needed rest and reflection.
I want to thank each of you who took the time during 2007 to stop by here, and especially those who left comments. I know you have better things to do with your time, and I hope you found a brief respite from the trials and tribulations of the real world during your visit(s).
I also hope that each of you find 2008 to be a year of wonderful surprises, and that this time next year you'll be able to look back and say, "gee, I really hate to see this one end!"
Happy New Year, amigos, and may God bless you and yours with the desires of your hearts!
Happy, happy, blessed New Year, Eric and YLB! God bless you both!!

You underestimate your value to your friends.
And because I can't think of a snappy, self-deprecating comeback, ditto what Beth said.
Happy New Year!

Posted by: Stephen at December 29, 2007 03:02 PMHappy new year Eric! Have an awesome break!
Posted by: Rach at December 30, 2007 05:36 AMJust found this blog... how did I find this blog? Google image searching "floral compass rose." Didn't find it. But I found this blog. And it's eerie.
Why? Skimming it I'm finding familiar pieces of my year/past few months. There must be kinds of people who roam in the same circles... Annie Lennox's scalp, Vera Ellen's anorexia in White Christmas (we watch it every year, and yes the collars are annoying! particularly on her pajamas! who has a high mandarin collar on pajamas?!), Circuit City's bad service, The Hobbit (!!!), trying to pick out a thin screen TV to replace the old cube... Meanwhile I'm going through it and thinking, I hear Dave Barry in this style.
Wish I'd known about Southern Velle earlier. My brother's in Midland visiting his "girl"'s relatives and apparently they ate out at a Mexican restaurant where the salsa was just tomato puree. Blegh.
Well, drink up me hearties yo ho, and a happy new year to this eerie and randomly-found blog.
Posted by: Laura at January 1, 2008 01:08 PMHappy New Year, Eric! Hurry back. We're ready now. ;-)
Posted by: gwynne at January 1, 2008 08:32 PMThanks, folks, for your kind words and wishes!
Laura, I guess I might as well fess up: I've been basing my blog on your life! I'm sorry; I really didn't think you'd ever find out. [Memo to self: Find out more about this "Google" thing.] But, in a way, I'm sort of relieved now that the secret is out. So, now...can we discuss that little incident with the water balloons and the armadillo?
Posted by: Eric at January 1, 2008 10:38 PMOh, and Gwynne? Be careful what you wish for. ;-)

Happy New Year to you as well, Eric! Enjoy your rest and break.
And thank you for thinking I have something better to do with my time. Clearly my ruse is holding up nicely. :)
