Diamond Settlement - Good News/Bad News?
Need somebody to feel sorry for today? Forget about the weepy Packers or Chargers fans. Instead, consider the plight of the poor schmuck who passed off a big honkin' cubic zirconium ring to his wife or girlfriend as the real thing, and is now trying to explain to her why the existence of this website doesn't represent the unexpected windfall she thinks it is.
Technorati tag: DeBeers Class Action Settlement

Posted by: Brian at January 21, 2008 07:26 PMHey Eric - I haven't been by since the Pope was selected - Was Googling and came across a comment I left you back then and decided to see what is going on today.
Good post. Pretty funny. But I gotta wonder about the people that bought cubic zirconium thinking they were buying A REAL De Beers' Diamond and now find out they were taken for a ride.
Will there be a lawsuit for them next? Where will it end?
Should I have become a lawyer so I could jump on the bandwagon?
I love a circus...

I don't think DeBeers has any liability in such a case (unless they misled the retailer, but that seems highly unlikely. After all, when you've cornered the market on diamonds already, why dabble in C.Z.?)
Oh, and welcome back! Try not to wait until the next Pope to come back, OK? ;-)
Posted by: Eric at January 22, 2008 08:35 AMI've got your site in my favorites now. - All I need now is an extra hour in my day to visit all my friends...
Posted by: prying1 at January 23, 2008 07:19 AMI can relate. Lately, I had to choose between blogging and reading blogs, because I can't do both. That makes me all the more appreciative of the folks who take the time to drop by here. I'm sure that I'm no busier than anyone else.

Eric, I don't think the Packer fans (the ones who attended the game) are weepy ..... they're just defrosting.
