Concho Resources to buy Henry Petroleum

This will undoubtedly be front page news in the Permian Basin: Concho Resources has entered into agreement to buy the assets of privately-held Henry Petroleum in a deal valued at $565 million.

Henry Petroleum has been a fixture in the local oil business for as long as I can remember, and Jim Henry has become one of the elder statesmen of the industry. It's sad to see the company go, but at least the assets (and people) are going to another locally-managed company.

It is nice to see that Jim Henry took very good care of his most valuable assets - the people who helped him build the Company.
And it is also very nice to see that Tim Leach shared Jim's value of those assets and is adding that expertise to Concho.
Nicely done Jim and Tim!

Speaking of the downtown oil business, I noticed yesterday afternoon on Google Earth that the Summit Bldg had been rendered in 3D, becoming the first building in Midland to be so honored.

I run the GIS Division for the city and I have an internal project underway in an attempt to add more 3D buildings to the downtown area, but I lost the distinction of being first.

Would anyone out there in 3DLand know who did the work for this rendition?

I'd love to know!! And, to whomever is responsible, I say 'Great work!'

Some of the people are staying at Henry, and I've heard it will be called Henry Resources.
