I think it was in 2007 that we received an inordinate amount of rainfall during the summer. There were places in Midland County that were flooded and stayed that way for weeks, long enough for enormous hordes (is that redundant?) of tadpoles to hatch. This image was derived from a photo of the bar ditch (look it up) of a caliche road south of Midland, where the water fowl and snakes were equally happy about the emerging frog population. Taken in Midland County, Texas.
