This is an aerial photo of an oildfield in West Texas. The wells are located in a playa lake that's white from the alkaline deposits, and while the area is normally dry, it is prone to flooding during thunderstorms. The wellsites and connecting roads are thus raised to protect them from encroaching water. By applying a little (OK, a lot) of Photoshopping, this scene acquires the look of a somewhat organic circuit board. Taken at 5,000' ASL somewhere over Crane County, Texas (I think).
