There's a guy named Roger Dean who was a pretty successful illlustrator back in the 60s and 70s (may still be; I don't know, but he's still selling artwork via his website). He designed the logo for the band Yes, if that rings a bell. Anyway, one of his trademark techniques was to create fantasy landscapes featuring oddly-shaped structures that may have been buildings or trees or...something else. Here's an example. Anyway, when I took a photo of these yarrow "blooms," I thought of Dean's artwork. Don't know if he'd be flattered or not, but there it is. Photo taken in Midland, Texas.
