The Fire Ant Gazette - Midland, Texas

We came across a tiny, weird forest of these dead trees along the shore of Canyon Lake. I don't know what kind of tree they were in their previous incarnation, but they look like demons struggling to emerge from the bare hot soil. We didn't stick around to see if they made it.
